We Have to Be Wary of Leftists and Liberals as Democrats

I think it is important to be wary of leftists and liberals within the Democratic Party currently. Some supporters mean well, but ultimately, some of their ideas aren’t rooted in logic or reality.

For example, in our current issue with illegal immigration. Leftists and liberals are claiming, “No one is illegal on stolen land”. I find this talking point to be incredibly alarming.

Starting with, “No one is illegal on stolen land”. Well, yes, people can and will be illegal on stolen land.

But let’s backtrack to the idea of “stolen” land. What exactly did the Americans steal? The Americans won the 13 colonies from the British through war. Then the Americans acquired the Louisiana Territory through the Louisiana Purchase, which President Thomas Jefferson secured with a check. We obtained western America through the Mexican-American War. Even then, President James K. Polk paid Mexico after the war (Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo) to ensure they would not attack the new American territory, and he acquired the Pacific Northwest through the Oregon Treaty.

So, I ask again, what exactly did we steal?

I have a feeling that some of the leftists and liberals have pity for the indigenous populations of old. I find their way of thinking shameful because it really makes these powerful indigenous nations seem passive, dainty, and ruleless.

Indigenous nations participated in the same concepts as any other nation. They waged war, had governing bodies, and staked direct claims to vital resources such as waterways and fertile farmlands. These nations fought wars with each other the same way modern nations wage war.

Indigenous nations even made alliances with the French to fight against the British. Some nations allied with the British to fight the Americans. Some nations united with the Spanish to fight the French. These wars in America and, eventually, wars against Americans lasted for hundreds of years.

But back to the main point of this piece, even when the “stolen” land was ruled solely by the indigenous nations of old… Someone from the Iroquois Nation could not walk down to the Cherokee Nation and operate in that nation because “no one is illegal on stolen land”.

These nations had to regulate their populations and resources in the same manner we must today. Nations have done this for years. So why do liberals and leftists want us to abandon all logic when it comes to illegal immigration?

The answer is because they live in a fantasy world. The United States of America does not have the resources to let any and everyone into the country. And trust me, I am not saying this from a scarcity mindset. But the proof is there. The US is currently experiencing an affordability, homelessness, food, mental health, drug, and housing crisis.

Where in that scenario would our country be able to provide a better life for an illegal immigrant when it can’t even provide that for its citizens?

I saw it with my own two eyes when Governor Abbott of Texas bussed migrants from the border to Chicago in protest of the Biden Administration ignoring his pleas for assistance on the border. When the migrants came to Chicago, they came during the winter, and they were sleeping outside of police stations. They were on the streets with their children, and news stations reported that some migrants wanted to go back to where they were because life was harder here in America.

This is one of the realities of illegal immigration in America. At such a disadvantage, they risk contributing to a crisis that provides living conditions that are worse than their homeland, which is embarrassing to say as an American.

Furthermore, I wonder why leftists and liberals never consider the national security risk of illegal immigration in the USA. From the way I see it, we are the most powerful and richest nation in the world. Our enemies know this, too. Our enemies are not going to issue an open challenge, meet on the battlefield, and just go blow for blow.

Instead of attacking us openly, our enemies will try to attack us covertly. One of these ways is by sending foreign agents into our country through the southern border to easily gain access to our country. And it really is that easy. There were TikToks of Chinese people (don’t know what to classify them as… refugees, asylum seekers, etc.) posting tutorials on how to get into America through the southern border.

That’s another thing that leftists and liberals fail to realize. It’s not only people from Latin America that are entering through our southern border. It’s people from all over the world because it is… an open border. According to the Associated Press, “Millions of people from more than 150 countries arrived, bringing the U.S. immigrant population to its highest levels ever” (Jarrett, Kessler, Lodhi, Spagat 2026). This is an undeniable national security risk.

Some may say, “Who cares if a foreign agent enters through our border?” Maybe they’ll care when the foreign agent gets the call to act. These foreign agents can be sent on espionage missions or terror missions. Additionally, it has been seen in recent years that countries use human trafficking as political weapons. Belarus did this to Poland. We could be on the receiving end of that, considering the enemies we’ve made in recent years. You just don’t know until it happens, unless our supreme intelligence services find out beforehand.

So yes, illegal immigration is more of a national security issue and not a moral issue. As Democrats, we need to make sure leftists and liberals are not the mouthpieces for this issue. Letting them be the mouthpiece will make our party sound silly and destroy any credibility we still have by endorsing such nonsense.

These people touting these ideas may not even be Democrats. They can be independent leftists, liberals, or foreign bots used to influence the American psyche. Either way it goes, Democrats must make a definitive stand on the issue and solve the issue before we enter the projected war with China. Since this is a national security issue, it needs to be bipartisan. Our enemies don’t care if we are republicans or democrats. But they do care if our parties can be used as a tool to exploit and destroy our republic.
